The president of Croatia, Ivo Josipovic, signed Monday a decision to call elections to be held on December 4. This decision was taken after repeated telephone consultations with the leaders of other parties in Parliament.
Following publication of the decision in the Gazette, the election process undertaken by the Central Election Commission in Croatia. On November 2 Ivo Josipovic will appeal to citizens proclamation in which, as will be reported on the situation in the country and invite them to participate in elections.
The Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), led by Prime Minister of Croatia, Jadranka Kosor has been in power 16 of total 20 years of independence the country. The opposition Social Democratic Party, whose leader Zoran Milanovic is ruled only four years.
