Iceland has recognized Palestine



Iceland's parliament voted Tuesday to a proposal that recognizes the Palestinian territories as an independent state and thus becomes the first country in Western Europe is moving in this traffic.
"Iceland is the first Western European country which is moving in this traffic. Now we have the formal authority to proceed to the recognition of Palestine, "said Foreign Minister Auxerre Skarfentinson on state television.
The Parliament voted in Reykjavik with 38 votes in all 63 seats in a resolution that allows the recognition of a Palestinian state within the borders it had before the Six Day War in 1967.
