12 Peopple in Mexico dead by cartel war

Five people were killed in the seaside resort Masatlan in northeastern Mexico, and seven corpses were discovered in Siouatanecho, another tourist destination in the central part of the country, official sources said.
In Masatlan, assassins opened fire on five people, including two women in a car outside a store with alcoholic beverages, according to police in the state of Sinaloa.
In Siouatanecho in the state of Guerrero, corpses discovered bore multiple gunshot wounds and had tied the legs at one pole, according to the department of public safety and local media.
The States of Sinaloa and Guerrero are particularly affected by the "drug cartel war " among security services and organized crime cartels which since 2006 have killed 41,000 people, according to official statistics.
The Sinaloa cartel, founded by Joaquin "El Chapi"  Guzman, is among the strongest in Mexico and spreads in Colombia and Central America. The Guzman, who was arrested in 1993, bribed prison officials and in 2001 he escaped from a maximum security prison hidden in a stroller with clothes for washing. The U.S. offered $ 5 million reward for information leading to his arrest.
Meanwhile, Mexican media reported yesterday that 117 policemen were arrested in the northern part of the country by special forces of army and police suspicion that they are cooperating with drug cartels.
